GST Admission Eligibility
To be eligible for the GST admission test, students must generally have passed their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent examinations in the science, humanities, or business groups. Minimum GPA requirements in SSC/Equivalent and HSC/Equivalent (including the 4th subject) also apply.
To be eligible to apply for the GST admission test, students must have passed the following examinations:
- SSC/equivalent exams in 2019, 2020, or 2021.
- HSC/equivalent exams, Diploma-in-Commerce, HSC (Vocational) under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, A-Levels, or other equivalent exams (as approved by the Equivalence Determination Committee) in 2022 or 2023.
Students who have passed their HSC/equivalent exams in Science, Humanities, or Commerce can apply for Units A, B, or C, respectively, provided they meet the following eligibility criteria:
Unit A (Science):
- Minimum GPA of 3.50 in both SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams (including the 4th subject) with a minimum total GPA of 8.00.
- Students from the Science group of the general education board, Madrasa board (Science), and Vocational (HSC) Science will be considered.
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 in both Bangla/Bangladesh and English/English subjects individually, with a minimum total GPA of 7.00.
Unit B (Humanities):
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 in both SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams (including the 4th subject) with a minimum total GPA of 6.00.
- Students from the Humanities group of the general education board, Music, Home Economics, and Madrasa board (General, Mujabbid) will be considered.
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 in both Bangla/Bangladesh and English/English subjects individually, with a minimum total GPA of 6.00.
Unit C (Commerce):
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 in both SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams (including the 4th subject) with a minimum total GPA of 6.50.
- Students from the Commerce group of the general education board, Diploma in Business Studies, Business Administration (HSC), and Diploma in Commerce will be considered.
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 in both Bangla/Bangladesh and English/English subjects individually, with a minimum total GPA of 6.50.
For GCE Students:
- Must have passed at least 5 subjects in IGCSE (O Level) with at least 3 subjects with a B grade.
- Must have passed at least 3 subjects in IAL (A Level) with at least 2 subjects with a B grade.
Note:
- For SSC and HSC/equivalent (O Level) exams, a B grade in Computer Science is required. For HSC/equivalent (A Level) exams, a pass in Computer Science is sufficient.
- Applications must be submitted online with the relevant documents.
- Applications will be approved by the Equivalence and Eligibility Determination Committee.
- Students must take practical exams in relevant subjects to be admitted to specialized departments (music, fine arts, drama, theatre and performance studies, film and television, architecture, etc.) in GST-affiliated universities.
- The practical (drawing) exam for the Architecture department will be held on the same day as the Unit A admission test (27th April 2025) from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the respective centers.
- Only students who pass the GST admission test for Units A, B, and C can apply for other specialized departments.
- Admission to specialized departments will be based on a merit list prepared by combining the scores obtained in the MCQ exam and the practical exam.
