RUET Admission Circular 2025

RUET will hold a pre-selection (MCQ) and a selection (written) test for admission to its various departments under the B.Sc. Engineering, B.U.R.P., and B.Arch courses for the 2024-2025 academic year. Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: The applicant must be a Bangladeshi citizen.
  • SSC/Equivalent: Minimum GPA of 4.00 (or equivalent grade) in the SSC or equivalent examination from any Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board/ Madrasa Education Board/ Technical Education Board of Bangladesh1 in 2019, 2020, 2021, or 2022.
  • HSC/Equivalent: Minimum GPA of 14.00 with at least 4.00 in Physics, Chemistry, and English in the HSC or equivalent examination from any Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board/ Madrasa Education Board/ Technical Education Board of Bangladesh2 in 2019, 2020, 2021, or 2022.
  • GCE O Level and A Level: Minimum 'B' grade in at least five subjects in GCE 'O' Level and minimum 'B' grade in Physics and Chemistry separately in GCE 'A' Level.
  • Foreign Institutions: For candidates who have passed from foreign educational institutions with at least 12 years of study, they must have obtained 80% marks or equivalent grade in each of Physics, Chemistry, and English in the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination in 2018, 2019, 2020, or 2021. They should also have an average of at least 70% marks or equivalent grade in the Secondary or equivalent examination in the relevant subjects.

Application Procedure

Step 1: Visit https://admission.ruet.ac.bd and click on the "Apply Now" button. Read the important instructions carefully, click on the "Yes, I Understand all instructions" checkbox, and proceed.

Step 2: Carefully enter your Board, SSC & HSC roll number and passing year, fill in the Captcha, and click "Continue."

Step 3: You will find the Application Submission Form. Fill in all the required information, select your group ('A' or 'B'), and select the applicable quota (if any). Upload a recent color photograph (not more than 3 months old) and signature as per the instructions. Click on the "I agree" checkbox. You can preview the form if you wish. Once you have confirmed all the information, click "Submit."

Step 4: After successfully submitting the application, you will see "Application Submitted Successfully." This step will also display your Application ID and Password, which you must save for future use. Click "Pay Examination Fees" to go to the Payment Page.

Step 5: Pay the prescribed application fee as per the table mentioned in Section 5 using a Credit Card/Debit Card/Mobile Banking or Internet Banking. If the payment is successful, you will see "Your payment has been completed successfully." You can then log in to the Dashboard and download the payment slip. No candidate can re-apply for the same group after making the payment.

Step 6: You can log in to the Dashboard of the Online Application System using your Application ID and Password and download the Application Form, Application Receipt, and Payment Receipt. Once the list of eligible candidates for the pre-selection (MCQ) exam is published, you can download the pre-selection (MCQ) admit card.

Step 7: Once the list of eligible candidates for the selection (written) exam is published based on the results of the pre-selection (MCQ) exam, you can download the selection (written) exam admit card.

Note: If you select GCE A/O Level in Step 2, you need to upload a scanned copy of your GCE 'A' and 'O' Level or equivalent exam gradesheet in zip file format along with all other information in the Submission Form. If you select Quota in Step 3, you need to upload the Quota related certificate in jpg format.

RUET Eligible Candidates List 2025

A merit list will be prepared based on the total grade points obtained in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English in the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination from all valid applications received within the stipulated time. If the number of applicants is high, the first 24,000 candidates from this list will be allowed to participate in the pre-selection (MCQ) exam. However, if there are multiple candidates with the same rank at 24,000, the number of candidates for the pre-selection (MCQ) exam will be finalized based on the marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English respectively in the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.

Subject to fulfilling the mentioned conditions, the pre-selection (MCQ) exam will be conducted in a maximum of three shifts, dividing the candidates eligible to participate in the pre-selection (MCQ) exam. A list of the first 8,000 eligible candidates for the selection (written) exam will be prepared based on the exam results in proportion to the attendance rate of the candidates in each shift. However, if there are multiple candidates with the same rank at 8,000, the number of candidates for the selection (written) exam will be finalized based on the marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English respectively in the pre-selection (MCQ) exam.

The list of eligible candidates for the selection (written) exam will be published on the university website (https://admission.ruet.ac.bd).

Preliminary Test on 08-February-2025 (Saturday)

Admit Card

After the publication of the list of candidates eligible to participate in the admission test, eligible applicants need to log in to the Dashboard on the https://admission.ruet.ac.bd website. From here, you can download the Admit Card (Pre-selection (MCQ) and Selection (Written)) in pdf format. The Admit Card must be printed in color on A4 size white paper. No candidate will be allowed to participate in the admission test without the Admit Card.

RUET Admission Test 2024-2025

RUET Admission Test 2025 will be in Two phase. One is MCQ and another is Written Test.

Pre-selection (MCQ) Exam

The pre-selection exam will be conducted in MCQ format for Group 'A' and Group 'B' based on the syllabus prescribed for the Higher Secondary Examination of 2024 for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry and on Functional English. The subjects of the pre-selection (MCQ) exam, the type of question paper, and the distribution of marks are described in Section 7.

  • Each question in the pre-selection (MCQ) exam carries 01 (one) mark.
  • For each incorrect answer in the MCQ exam, 25% of the marks allotted to the question will be deducted.
  • If more than one circle is filled in for the same question on the OMR Sheet, the answer will be considered incorrect.
  • Only black ballpoint pens should be used to fill in the circles on the OMR Sheet. Pencils, gel pens, or fountain pens should not be used.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall 15 minutes after the commencement of the exam and will not be allowed to leave the examination hall until the end of the exam.

Selection (Written) Exam

The selection (written) exam will be held on the same day for the different departments of the university's Faculty of Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering under 'A' and 'B'. The written selection test for Group 'A' and 'B' will be based on the syllabus prescribed for the Higher Secondary Examination of 2024 for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry and on Functional English. An additional freehand drawing test will be held for the Architecture department of Group 'B'. The subjects of the selection (written) exam, the type of question paper, and the distribution of marks are described in Section 8. It should be noted that the selection (written) exam for Group 'A' and 'B' will start at 10:00 AM on February 20, 2025, and continue until 12:30 PM.

  • Each question in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English in the Selection (Written) exam carries 10 marks, and each question in freehand drawing carries 25 marks.
  • Pencils can be used for freehand drawing.
  • After the completion of the selection (written) exam for Group 'B', the candidates will submit the question paper. After that, freehand drawing will start at 12:45 PM after 15 minutes in the same seat.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall 30 minutes after the commencement of the exam and will not be allowed to leave the examination hall until 1 hour has elapsed after the commencement of the exam.

The pre-selection (MCQ) exam will be held in a maximum of three shifts on the same day for the different departments of the three faculties of the university under Group 'A' and 'B'. A total of 100 marks MCQ exam will be held for both 'A' and 'B' groups in the pre-selection (MCQ) exam, and 25 percent marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Selection (Written) Exam Subjects, Question Paper Type, and Mark Distribution:

A written exam of 350 marks will be held for both 'A' and 'B' groups in the selection (written) exam, and candidates applying for 'B' group will have to participate in an additional freehand drawing exam of 100 marks. Final Admission

Candidates have to fill up the designated form online and submit it for admission. The order of preference for departments for admission cannot be changed after online submission.

Documents to be submitted during admission:

i. H.S.C. or equivalent examination registration card issued by the Education Board. 

ii. Original certificate of Secondary or equivalent examination. 

iii. Original copy of the gradesheet of Secondary or equivalent examination. 

iv. Original copy of the gradesheet of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination. 

v. Original copy of the testimonial of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination issued by the head of the educational institution. 

vi. 2 (two) copies of recent (not more than 3 months old) passport size color photographs (without attestation). 

vii. Admission test admit card. 

viii. For reserved seats (residents of Bandarban district, hilly districts and other areas of tribe/minority/ethnic group): 

  • Certificate issued by the chairman of the local union council. 
  • Certificate issued by the headman/headman/chief of the tribe/minority/ethnic group must be attested by the local police station executive officer/district administrator.

Candidates will undergo document verification by the Scrutiny Committee and medical examination by the Medical Board constituted with the health officials of the university.

If found fit in the medical examination, the selected candidates will have to submit the required admission fee within the stipulated time and deposit the original gradesheet and original/provisional certificates for two years with the approval of the Admission Committee. The certificates will be returned only before the expiry of two years upon cancellation of admission.

 

No separate letter will be sent to inform the selected candidates about the admission and commencement of classes. Candidates will be responsible for knowing all the information about admission and subsequent commencement of classes. All information in this regard will be available on the notice board of the university, its own website, and the admission test website https://admission.ruet.ac.bd.
